Ze Gold!

It’s been said that it takes two to make a thing go right. Perhaps it is also true that it takes two to make it out of sight.

But, what we’ve always wondered is, why do so many people ask, “what is the sound of one hand clapping?”

Why do we wonder that? Because the answer is obvious. Actually, there are two:

  • If there is just a single hand clapping (and can you really say that it is clapping at all if there is no second hand?), then the sound is a nearly inaudible swishing sound.
  • And if there are two hands clapping, well, the sound is pretty clearly 1/2 of aggregate ‘slapping’ sound that a typical hand clap makes.

It’s not really that complicated, is it?
