The story of America

In Flower Fields

By Sgt. Ruff Puff

In Flower Fields the Dayzees blow
Between the Bzaaps!, row on row,
That mark our place; and in Cloudy Climb
The Lakitus, still Spiny-flinging, fly
Scarce heard amid the jumps and hammers below.

We are the Defeated. Short chapters ago
We floated, charged up, saw electricity glow,
Shocked and were shocked, and now we crumple
In Flower Fields.

Take up our quarrel with Mario:
To you from failing Puffs we throw
The thunder; be yours to charge it high.
If ye pull a “Lakilester” with us who fry
We shall not puff, though Dayzees grow
In Flower Fields.
